Arleigh B. Templeton was the first President of the University of Texas at San Antonio. He served as President from 1970 through December 1972. Before coming to UTSA, he was President of Sam Houston State University, 1963-1970, and later served as President of the University of Texas at El Paso, retiring in 1980.
